Your One-Word Career Intention For 2026

Ho-ho-howdy, Impact Jobbers! It’s the last newsletter of the year, so let’s have some fun, shall we?
No advice, no bad news, no last-minute changes to your resume.
All we’ve got for you today is one word.

Before you wrap up work with this and take a much-deserved break for the holidays, we want you to take three minutes to set an intention for 2026.
Your intention could be for your job search, your current career, or your overall life goals. The key is to get specific and choose one word that encapsulates what you want to focus on in 2026.
Here are a few ideas:
Clarity – fewer applications, better fit
Alignment – values before titles
Courage – applying for the role you think might be a stretch
Connection – relationships over job boards
Sustainability – work you can actually keep doing
Curiosity – exploring without pressure
Rest – because burnout isn’t a badge of honor
Momentum – small steps that add up
Trust – in your skills, your timing, yourself
Did any of those jump out at you? Or do you have something else in mind?

After you choose your word, ask yourself this question: if this word guided my career or job search next year, what would I do differently? Let this word be your anchor as you navigate 2026.
Dare to hit reply and tell us your word? We’d love to hear it!
From all of us at The Impact Job, we’re wishing you the happiest holidays with as much time off as possible. See you in 2026!

Win of the Week:
On the 12th day of Christmas, my true love gave to me an electric van! To celebrate the holidays, 12 Mercedez-Benz USA ambassadors are giving away an all-electric eSprinter van to a nonprofit of their choice. Ambassadors include Martha Stewart, Ludacris, and Tracee Ellis Ross.
Bummer of the Week:
The latest report from the US Bureau of Labor Statistics didn’t have great things to say about the job market in November. But hey, it’s the holidays, so we’re gonna spare you (but if you want to read it, just click the link below). We’ll ask Santa for some better news in January.
