These Companies Prove That Growth and Sustainability Can Coexist

Business growth and sustainability don’t necessarily go together like peanut butter and chocolate (a WAY better combo than peanut butter and jelly).

The companies that take over the world aren’t celebrated for doing right by the planet…looking at you, Amazon, Nestle, and literally every fast fashion brand. Oh, and big oil conglomerates.

Shit, did we just bring down the vibes? Don’t worry - TIME just released their list of the World’s Best Companies in Sustainable Growth. These companies prove that growing a business and taking care of the planet is possible, and they’re making it look simple.

Here are the highlights:

  • At the top of the list are two utility companies based in Spain that have extremely low carbon emissions due to 100% renewable energy operations.

  • The highest ranked US-based company in Intuit, the financial software company that aims to reach net zero by 2040.

  • Surprisingly, Mastercard managed to crack the top ten. Other mega-corps like Visa, BMW Group, and Coca-Cola also made the list.

  • However, most of the list is made up of mid-sized companies that you haven’t heard of yet.

The list proves that prioritizing the planet is also good for the bottom line of businesses of all sizes. So why isn’t everyone doing it?

Some questions are just un-answerable. But if you want to work for a company that does right by Mother Earth, scroll down to start applying for Impact Jobs.
