Win of the Week:
A nonprofit conservation group has purchased the 638-acre Oliver Tract, a historic property bordering the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, with plans to donate it to the National Park Service. The acquisition is the park's largest expansion since 2009, protecting forests and wildlife habitat while preventing future development along the park's edge.
Bummer of the Week:
A new evaluation of child safety features across major social media platforms found that most protections aren't working as advertised. Researchers tested 86 safety tools and found that only 35 worked, raising concerns that parents may have a false sense of security about the safeguards available to young users.
