Circular Action Alliance is Hiring!

Howdy-ho, job seekers! We’ve got a new social impact job hot off the presses. Circular Action Alliance is hiring a Reuse and Refill Director!

Are you passionate about the environment? Do you rinse and dry every single container before you recycle it? Have you ever taken furniture BACK to Ikea when you’re done with it instead of dumping it at Goodwill?

Have we got a job for you! Let’s go.

Here’s what you need to know about the Circular Action Alliance (CAA):

  • “CAA is a U.S. Producer Responsibility Organization (PRO) dedicated to implementing effective Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) laws for paper and packaging.” Read their About page.

  • Company size: 11-50 employees

  • Location: fully remote team, but the org does work in California, Colorado, Maine, Maryland, Minnesota, and Oregon

  • Mission: CAA helps producers comply with EPR laws, delivers harmonized best-in-class services and works with governments, businesses and communities to reduce waste and recycle more.

CAA is hiring a Reuse and Refill Director to lead the development and implementation of strategies that enable consumer packaged goods companies to transition from single-use packaging to reusable and refillable packaging systems.

You’d be on the forefront of creating scalable solutions that reduce plastic waste and environmental impact while maintaining product quality, consumer convenience, and business viability across global markets.

Not too shabby, huh?

Win of the Week:

Researchers from China’s Tongji University were surprised to report that from 2021 to 2023, four glacier basins in East Antarctica gained billions tons of ice sheet mass per year rather than losing it. The increase is predicted to offset 0.3 percent of sea level rise per year.

Bummer of the Week:

Unfortunately, sea level rise is a top concern for climate scientists. In the last 30 years, the rate of yearly sea rise has more than doubled. Since 1993, the global sea level has increased by around four inches.
