Unemployment Was Low in 2024, But So Was Employee Satisfaction
Whattup, job seekers! As we barrel roll head-first into 2025, we can’t help but wonder what the job market will look like this year. In our research, we found some interesting stats and trends about the current state of the workplace.
First of all, some good news: 2024 saw lower unemployment and quit rates compared to other recent years. As a job board, we think that more jobs are always something to celebrate.
But sadly, there’s also some bad news.
The bummer is that even though unemployment was low, so was employee satisfaction. According to a recent Gallup poll, only 50% of US employees say they are thriving at their jobs, which is a record low.
Employee satisfaction took a turn for the worse in 2020 and has only nose-dived since then. Workplaces have experienced substantial changes in the last few years, resulting in an unhappy and disengaged workforce.
Is this you? Are you unsatisfied with your job, or are you one of the lucky few who look forward to going to work every day?
If you like your job, we applaud you. Hold onto it for dear life. If you don’t like your job, remember that there could be a better option out there for you. Scroll down to start applying for new jobs in the social impact industry.
Plus, stay tuned for future newsletters where we discuss how you can protect your wellbeing at work.
